Patriots New Kicker Looks Ready for the Spotlight

By: Andrew Parker

Not very many people knew who Marshall kicker Justin Rohrwasser was before the Patriots selected him with their fifth-round selection. During the draft, ESPN even admitted to not having any tape on Rohrwasser when he was drafted.

I had to turn to somebody who had actually watched every down of Marshall football this year to learn more about the new kicker who is set to officially take over for Stephen Gostkowski. I asked Marshall Athletics play-by-play announcer Jake Griffith for a scouting report to learn a little more about Rohrwasser.

Here is a video from the local news affiliate with his big time kick against Western Kentucky that won the Herd their homecoming game this past year.

Replacing a franchise legend like Gostkowski will not be an easy task for the rookie, but moments like this should give Patriots fans some hope that he will be able to come through in the clutch when needed.
